The New York State Bridge Authority (NYSBA) is offering a 12-week, full-time, paid Summer Internship Program designed for motivated individuals interested in exploring careers in public transportation and infrastructure.

Are you an environmental engineering student fluent in Spanish looking to gain valuable experience working alongside executive leadership? This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to support cross-governmental collaborations focused on emergency management, disaster response, and training coordination. 

You will play a key role in facilitating communication and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders, including dignitaries from other countries. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of environmental engineering and international collaboration, with an emphasis on bilingual communication and document interpretation.

Pay Rate and Hours:

  • $20 per hour
  • 40 hours per week
What You’ll Do:
  • Translate and interpret documents and communications between English and Spanish, including highly technical engineering documents
  • Work directly with executive leadership to support project goals and meeting logistics
  • Help organize training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Conduct research and provide support for communication and event coordination
  • Additional tasks as needed by the Executive Team
Requirements:
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in emergency management, disaster response, and international collaboration
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Basic Requirements
  • Use of GIS and data visualization tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Must be at least 18 years old
