Welcome to the Out of the Darkness Dutchess and Ulster Counties Walk

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Thanks to Walkers and Donors like you, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.

Create a Gift Basket
This year, we are asking all team captains to create a gift basket that we will raffle off at your walk.

• All the money collected from your basket will then go towards your walk team.
• Have each team member donate one item to the basket.
• The better your basket, the more people will want it and the money more your team will get!
• It's an easy and fun way to raise money!
• Did your loved one enjoy baking? Create a basket with a cupcake pan, baking utensils, box of cake mix and an apron.
• Was your loved one a huge movie fan? Do a basket with different kinds of popcorn, 2 movie theater tickets, candy.
• Are you walking for YOU? What do you love to do in your spare time? Make a basket that best represents YOU!
• All we ask is that you let Maria (914-610-9156) know which walk you are participating in and what type of basket your team will be doing.
