Dr. Charles Merguerian\, however\, will discuss the history of earthquakes in NYC and make the case that a large number of northwest-trending faults throughout the bedrock of Manhattan should be considered active faults.\n\n\n\nDr. Merguerian is Professor Emeritus and former Chairman of Geology at Hofstra University (1981-2014)\, Visiting Research Fellow at Yale University\, and has a broad range of expert consulting experience with the United States Geological Survey\, the New York City DEP\, Con Edison\, and many private companies.\n\n\nFree and open to the public
