SUMMARY:MHVSHRM Webinar - Supporting Employee Mental Health and Wellness - Can We Talk?
DESCRIPTION:As we turn the calendar to 2021\, we know that many of the challenges and struggles of the past year will continue. Beyond the initial focus on physical health and safety\, the Covid-19 pandemic has also deeply impacted mental health in unexpected and unanticipated ways. A recent survey suggested that 1 in 3 adults in the US now have a diagnosable mental health condition and that symptoms of anxiety and depression are affecting far more than are diagnosed. Human Resource professionals often find themselves in a unique role of "enforcer" and "protector" when it comes to employee struggles and challenges but often do not know how to identify mental health challenges or support staff who seek assistance. \n\n \n\n"Stop the Stigma: promoting mental health and wellness in the workplace" will help HR staff to:\n\n	Identify and recognize signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges (anxiety\, depression\, traumatic stress)\n	Create an office culture when mental health is seen as an integral part of employee wellness and productivity\n	Effectively assist employees who are experiencing a mental health challenge (including EAP\, community services\, and self-help strategies)\n	Begin erasing the stigma associated with mental health and seeking support/treatment
