SUMMARY:Jean Davidson - Book signing and presentation
DESCRIPTION:Woodstock Harley-Davidson is honored to host Jean Davidson\, granddaughter of Walter Davidson\, on June 11th from 6pm 8:00pm to celebrate the release of her 6th book Harley-Davidson Family Memories. There will be a book signing and wine and cheese reception to follow. \n\nKingston\, NY May 27\, 2015\, - Woodstock Harley-Davidson: will be hosting a book signing along with a wine and cheese reception\, for Jean Davidson and her son John Davidson-Oeflein\, June 11th from 6pm 8pm. Jean and Jon will be autographing and speaking about their latest book Harley-Davidson Family Memories and Jean's safety program for Children\, Yell and Tell\, which she will be presenting to local school children throughout her week long stay.\n\nHarley Davidson Family Memories\n\nIn this book\, Jean Davidson and her son\, Jon Davidson Oeflein\, share a very personal glimpse behind the scenes of the great Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Together\, they have gathered little-known stories such as the tale of how the young Arthur Davidson and William S. Harley saw the curvaceous French performer Anna Held finish her vaudeville act by riding a motorcycle across the stage in 1901. Could that have spurred the young men to build their first motorcycle or was it just their desire to get to their favorite fishing holes easier? Also included are over 250 photographs collected from numerous sources including: family members\, personal collectors\, rare magazines\, long-time H-D employees and dealers\, and the Harley-Davidson Motor Company Archives. Enjoy this entertaining and revealing portrait of the men and women who created America's legendary motorcycle!\n\nAbout the authors:\n\nJEAN DAVIDSON is an internationally known author and speaker. She is the granddaughter of Walter Davidson\, one of the founders and first president of manufacturing. For many years\, she and her husband\, John owned the largest Harley-Davidson dealership in Wisconsin. She chose not to work at the company\, but to be a teacher of children with special needs. She is known as the Davidson family historian and has written numerous books on the family's history. Jean has been traveling all over the U.S. and the world meeting people and making lifelong friends\; from being invited to the H-D dealership in Sweden to being the special guest at the largest motorcycle rally in Europe\, she has certainly covered a lot of ground. She is enjoying being back in the world of motorcycles. Jean would like to thanks all her friends and relatives who have supported her on this journey.\n\nIn 2006\, Jean's four-year-old grandson\, Ryder\, was lost in a tragic water accident. Since then\, Jean has developed a children's safety program called Yell and Tell\, which is spreading around the world. Jean now combines her Harley-Davidson book travels with promoting this life-saving program. Jean lives in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin\, close to where H-D motorcycle history began in her great grandfather's shed.
