DESCRIPTION:Prohibition in the United States began in January\, 1920 when the 18th Amendment went into effect. But in the Hudson Valley\, some people found ways around the prohibition on alcohol. Come to the museum for this special program on the history of Prohibition in the Hudson Valley. The program will begin with a brief talk on the history of Prohibition in the Hudson Valley\, local reactions to the law\, and how exactly some people circumvented the new law. The program will include a special one-night-only mini exhibit on breweries in Kingston\, 1920s-themed hors d'oeuvres\, and a tasting with Tuthilltown Spirits. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s attire. \n\nTickets are $45 for HRMM members\, $55 for non-members and include the hors d'oeuvres\, tasting with Tuthilltown Spirits\, and a free souvenir glass. \n\nNot a member?
