DESCRIPTION:This program is for Ulster County residents/households ONLY.\n\nNo waste from businesses\, schools\, or organizations will be accepted.\n\nREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!\n\n\n\nMake your appointment online at www.ucrra.org/household-hazardous-waste or by calling 845-336-0600 Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.\n\n\n\nHousehold hazardous wastes are chemicals that are toxic\, caustic\, flammable\, or chemically reactive.\n\nLook for labels: Warning\, Caution\, Danger\, Poisonous\, Toxic\, Flammable.\n\nNever put these items in the trash or pour chemicals down the drain.\n\nBring them to our free\, safe disposal event.\n\n\n\nACCEPTABLE MATERIALS for collection include:\n\n	Aerosols\n	Automotive cleaners & fluids (antifreeze\, brake fluid\, transmission fluid\, oil filters\, etc.)\n	Bug spray\, insecticides\, pesticides\, rat poisons\, mothballs\n	Fire extinguishers\n	Fluorescent bulbs (CFL?s\, UV\, tubes\, spirals\, etc.)\n	Household cleaners (oven\, toilet\, drain\, carpet\, window\, disinfectant\, all-purpose\, etc.)\n	Lawn & garden chemicals\n	Lead and oil-based paints\, spray paints\, etc.\n	Mercury\, thermostats\, thermometers\n	Mineral spirits\, turpentine\n	Pharmaceutical waste (expired/unused medications\, vitamins\, liquid medications\, pet medications\, and medicated lotions and lotions)\n	Photo chemicals\n	Pool chemicals\n	Rechargeable batteries\n	Stains\, sealants\, varnishes\n	Waste fuels (kerosene\, gasoline\, propane\, etc.)\n	Wood cleaners & stains\n\n\n\nNOT ACCEPTED AT THESE EVENTS:\n\n\n	Alkaline batteries\n	Asbestos\n	Empty containers\n	Electronics\n	Etiological\, pathological\, or medical waste (SHARPS)\n	Explosives\, ammunition\, or fireworks\n	Latex paint\n	Motor oil\n	Smoke detectors\n	Radioactive materials\n	Waste in containers larger than 10 gallons\n	Waste generated from businesses\, farms\, schools\, or other organizations\n\n\n\nParticipants are limited to no more than 220 lbs\, or 25 gallon equivalent.\n\nNo containers larger than 10 gallons can be accepted.\n\nRegistration is REQUIRED! \n\n\n\nMake your appointment online at www.ucrra.org/household-hazardous-waste or by calling 845-336-0600 Monday - Friday
